hampton roads cherokee club?
Hey guys I know there are a few Jeep clubs like http://hrjc.org and a few others but they always seem over run with wranglers. So I was thinking of starting a club for the Cherokee fans. It would be open to all xj, MJ, and grand Cherokee owners. We could even use this section of the site for communication at least to start off with.
What for you guys think?

It would be kinda cool, but you are better off belonging to a bigger more established club. Personally I belong to a couple of local clubs, and yeah the clubs are over run with the wronglers, but I love showing them up on the trail and in the garage.
Nothing like a guy who has 30K+ in their rig get showed up by a beat down xj.

I talked with a few people about a couple years back and found the same thing Pat said. Honestly, MPJAI is a good club. I've been to a couple fo their meetings and it is mostly TJ's, but like Pat said, it's nice being able to show 'em up. Just kinda hard for us in VB to make the meetings all the time. That 30 minute drive to Hampton gets costly in gas.

For you guys down at the beach.. there is always Tidewater 4 wheelers. They let all make and models in.. but they have more requiremnets to belong to them. You actually have to get vetted for them.. where as MPJAI lets just about anyone with a jeep join

ALos the Wronglers are not that different from the xj's... so a lot of the tech that applies to them.. also applies to the xj. We all know that ppl with wronglers are not affraid to pay more for junk.. makes great buyers for left over xj parts

Haha yeah I'm joining up with the Hampton Roads Jeep Club. They've got an event at Starr motors thus Saturday and it'll be my first meet up with them. We'll see how it goes.
Anybody wanna go with me? They've got their off roading playground there too.

I was hoping to go to Starr's but I'm in Texas, and then we're doing your lift the next weekend, Mike. Oh btw, my buddy said to call him Friday morning, see how busy it is for him and if it's too much then he'll block out Saturday morning for us to use the bays.

Matt, just to make sure we're on the same page because I seem to be having troubles with dates this week. We're still doing the lift on the 29/30th right? All the weekends have been running together and I've totally lost track of dates for about the past week.
