Nope, He pulled into the police station while we were unhooking the trailer. We asked if he was going to tow it if we parked there and started into a long conversation about the area. He is a real nice guy but I do not want to have to have him tow me!
He told us to stay off the sand until the area gets some rain.
Just rolled out on 235's no problem on the sand. There was a Honda crv that made it off when I was on my way out.

We are either going to put in at Fort Fisher or at Trails End Rd, both are good fishing areas and have nice slips, Fort Fisher is a little better. We went down there tonight during the storm and the tides have the water near flood level down there. Got to see a hell of a lightening show!Originally Posted by w-stev29

Has any one ever taken their Jeep out on the lower end of the island near Fort Fisher? There is a beach access there.

You can use them. You can't charge to help people out. Originally Posted by xjtrailrider

There's plenty of people that have straps or ropes.
Air down a little and don't stop in the soft sand, turn around by the tide lines where it is harder.
You should be fine.

Thanks for the clarification. I would only use it to retrieve either of my rigs if needed. Originally Posted by Barrelmaker

Have you ever been out at Fort Fisher? That area looks much less crowded than the north end. I'm not a big fan of crowds.

I hear its more secluded but I think its a different pass that's why I just stay at the north end because I always get the year Pass.

Yep, its $12 per rig.
We just got in from kayaking/fishing the Fort Fisher area inside the jetty. Had some hard hits using Gulp shrimp on 1/4oz jig head but never got the hook set in time. I think it was mostly flounder. We used mud minnows and nothing. Going to try a different approach tomorrow. Pics to come!
