Default Bobletts gap trail cleanup/ride august 5th (roanoke,va)

I put a post in the roanoke regional chat, but i'm going to make its own thread so it doesn't get lost in the nonsense.

This is a time to meet some new forum members, make some friends, wheel a little and clean up one of the last legal trails we have around here.I'd consider it a stock friendly trail, and all of all kinds are welcome.

Where?

Bonsack walmart,roanoke va

When?

Sunday,august 5th

10am ,leaving no late then 10:15

I'm starting a list just to keep tabs on how many people will actually show up.

Can you tell me a little about Bobletts trail, how does it compare with Potts? I'm familiar with Potts and enjoy that level and higher of off roading. Thanks.

It's nothing like potts really. It's much milder then potts, and only has a few ruts that put you a little off camber. It's just a fun and local trail.

Yep, not worth the drive down for this one Rockhead. We can do Potts soon though if you want. My football coaching schedule is going to get real busy but my Sundays are generally open.

Cool, let me know when. Rockheadsson and I are doing the Cove, summer slam I think, in a few weeks. We ran Potts three weeks ago, always fun.
zjjerk, not trying to take over your thread. Sorry.

Hitch haulers are handy for trail cleanups with XJ's/Wranglers since we don't have much space to work with. I use one on Potts for the big clean-up each year.

I do know that in the National Forest you have to have a chainsaw permit and be certified to use one with all of the safety gear. Not sure about Bobblets and where that area falls into. The AT runs across the road near the top correct?

I use to have my NF chainsaw Cert(let it slip) and carried my Stihl 009 top handle with me, its a light, easy to pack saw, that is powerful enough to get through some big wood.

Wish I had a saw, that'd be great. and would've helped alot with the storms a few weeks ago! I have a rake and some loppers here, but not much else. I'll brin gthose though, trashbags, and gloves too.
