I'm finishing up body work on my xj right now, after the fresh paint comes a 3" RC and 31s. It's really all a crunch for time before I had back up to school in Western NC. If I can make it, me and my girlfriend would love to come out for the day

Just wondering, what would keeping my tire pressure so low be good for? from 35psi to 10psi seems like...well...I don't really know haha.

If anyone has any issues with a 2WD coming out, feel free to speak your mind. I understand why this thing would be a 4x4 only meet. I don't want to be a liability for everyone, or slow down the pack

You let down your tire pressure to increase the amount surface area that comes in contact with the sand. The more rubber you have in contact with the sand, the harder it is to sink. The same reason people wear snow shoes.

Dude! We don't have a problem with 2wd. This is all about community and you're a part of it so bring the rig on out and if there's any issues we'll make sure you get out!

Getting onto Corrolla shouldnt be an issue for any 2wd truck. Last time I was there I watched a full size uhaul truck and a bus driving on the sand. It can be done and there will be plenty of us there with recovery gear.

I think this is one of my favorite parts about owning a Jeep is the community around it. Matt and I touched on it when he was letting me use some of his tools. It's a part of who we are, we love our Jeeps and yours too!

Thanks guys! If I can get my XJ finished in time I'll come out for sure!

The next 2 days will be spent finishing the sanding and priming on it, and mounting the new rear bumper. The week after that I should have it bondo'd, sanded, and a second coat of primer on it, hopefully with some wetsanding done. I know i'm headed down to Myrtle Beach the 16th through the 20th, so that's a halt on my progress. But after that I've got to get the coat of paint on my XJ. I know I can get all this done before the OBX trip, but the problem may be with getting my lift and tires in time. I'm hoping the lift is a full one-day job, but that's a bit optimistic from what I hear -__- I'll keep checking back though!

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst

I showed my dad the RC installation video on youtube and he said he thinks about 4-6 hours sounds right. But that could easily be set back depending on issues I may have with rusted/PITA bolts.

Immediately after I get the lift on though, i'm taking a trip to Discount Tire, then the shop the next day for an alignment wanna knock all of this out as quickly as possible

Count me in. Possibly with +3. I'll bring my portable grill and some venison.

Best advice to make it go along smooth is to start right now twice a week spraying all bolts that will be removed with pb blaster. I sprayed my bolts once a week from Feb till I actually put the lift on in April and I didn't break one bolt including any of the upper rear shock bolts. Everything came off nice and smooth.
