im pretty sure i went to high school with you, red land, but uh since I live in the same area as you, if you plan on doing any mud do NOT get bfg at's, they absolutely suck in our mud, I had a set on my xj, big mistake, the Uniroyal lacross(or laraedo?) did just as well as the bfg's. But if you plan on doing 99% street and like 1% dirt road I guess they are ok. My buddy has the grabber at2's on his dakota, they are similar to the bfg at's but they seem to outperform them pretty significantly. I currently have SS TSL radials on my xj, couldnt be happier. and as far as the coopers go, couldnt tell ya, never had them

A good A/T tyre will let you get your little or ring finger in between the tread blocks to touch the bottom of the groove - on a new tyre.
A good mud tyre should let you do the same thing with your thumb. You need the much larger grooves to allow the mud to clear out as the tyre rotates.

I run 33" BFG A/T's and they are great for all around use. As for the mud I have been through a lot of good deep mud without any issues. They are quiet and last a long time. Nothing but good things to say about BFG A/T's.
P.S. They obviously are not the most aggressive tire for mud, but as you stated your on road more than off. With the BFG's atleast you can go off-road and not worry too much.

I have the Bridgestone Dueler AT revo right now.
I am impressed with the capabilities of the tire. It is quiet on the freeway and although it isn't great in the mud it handles snow, ice and loose dirt with the best of them.

Any feedback on the Khumo AT? I saw them at Tirerack, less expensive end of spectrum.
Ok I know I should search this more but I keep seeing conflicting info on max tire size vs lift.
I'm thinking of getting 2nd set of tires for light trail / wheeling in NJ: fairly aggressive A/T on some soft 8s. I'm looking to keep the cost down, and swap these with the daily driver BFG long trails on the stock 15 x 7s. I tow a boat so I'm not gonna get cazy with this one and I don't want to mess with the gearing.
I'm leaning towards BB type 2" lift.
I'd like some feedback on what I can realistically run without rubbing and without trimming the fenders.
Seems talk of height is not the whole story. Info should include tire/wheel width and backspacing.
What say you? You know, I'm gonna copy this to a new post.
