Default Ride to the White Mountains, anyone?

Just throwing this out there as a feeler. Anyone from the NY/VT/NH/ME/MA/CT area that would be interested in a mass Cherokee exodus to the White Mountains for camping and sight-seeing? My girlfriend and I are considering heading up there in August for her vacation, and the thought popped into my head that this might be a good experience for people who have never gone.

It's absolutely gorgeous up there. If you've never been before, it's definitely a trip worth taking. The view from the top of Mount Washington is breathtaking. I'm not too sure on what there is for offroading, but we can certainly look into it.

Thoughts?

Up north, by Berlin. Beautiful country.

It's a little bit of a haul, but well worth the effort.

The White's are beautiful. I'v spent alot of time up there in my younger days, always did a Feb camping trip to Dolly Copp camp to enjoy the snow.

I have a tip for you.. Wild River Camp off FR12. I got charged by a large Bull Moose there.. nice camp.

An early morning ride along the Kancamangus is also a good time.

That's what I was thinking. Head up the first day, do some sightseeing, have a barbecue and feed everyone. The next day, do more sightseeing, take a drive to the top of Mount Washington, come back for dinner again. Next day, head out.

I'm trying to get a feel for how many people would be interested before I try to organize anything proper.

Another bump. Is anyone at all interested in this? My GF and I are going regardless, but if people are interested, we can definitely do this as well.

Alright, the lack of interest has led me to believe no one wants to set something up. No problemo, but if you ever have a chance to go up there...DO IT.

Worth every last second it takes.

Dont forget to check out the Lost River and The Basin! Two of my favorite White Mts. sight seeing stops. You'll see the signs.

Where are you guys staying? I stayed in Lincoln for years, now we stay a bit more south in the Sunapee region, another awesome area.

We're not sure yet, the trip isn't until August. Whereabouts in Sunapee do you guys stay? Up until about a month ago, that's where I lived, up by the harbor.

wow! Small world! We stay right ON Sunapee harbor. We have a friend of the family that owns a house there. 21 Garnet Street. We've been going every year for the past few summers. Mom, brother, girlfriend, and I. Probably going again this year. Probably late July or Early August. Some nice smallmouth in that lake.

If you drive past a large pink house with a rusty metal moose out front, that's where I used to live. Harbor Gallery.
