Hello! I'm in Severn, MD. I joined this forum back in 2010. I had every intention of buying an XJ then. I had a kid and that dream was put on hold. A project XJ landed in my lap last week. The wife and I just bought our XJ! We picked up a 1996 Cherokee Classic for $500. It runs without burning oil and 4WD works. The transmission seems strong and its not too beat up on the outside. that's the good. The bad... everything else.
Our intention for this build is strictly as a toy. We want something to take out on the weekends and on vacations. we will use it off road as well for ski trips, beach trips and camping.
