Default Need a personal favor in Buffalo/Erie County

Hello. This will sound odd but hoping someone can help me. I have a good online/phone friend who lives in the north section of Buffalo, Kenmore I believe the area is called. I have known him about 15 years from online chatrooms and forums and later we grew to talk on the phone and exchange text messages multiple times a day. He has a lot of health issues (Heart, COPD, etc) and can not work and lives in a government run apartment building or complex. Lately he has been very depressed about his situation and was getting counseling and was on medication for this.

Anyway last Thursday morning I sent my usual good morning text and he wrote back saying he had an appointment later in the day with his psychiatrist and really didn't feel like going but would to discuss his medications. That was the last time I have heard from him. He just vanished and has not replied to a text since. The phone goes right to voice mail and e-mails are unanswered. Because of his health issues and recent depression I am really worried what became of him. I tried calling social services up there but it rang and rang and said everyone was busy with other callers and leave a message. I did twice and no one has ever replied back.

Basically I'd like to find someone who could possibly just stop by his place and knock on the door to see if he's still alive or maybe hospitalized or whatever or go to the apartment office and ask. He lived exactly across the street from a pizza place and got food there several times a week so they may know since he's hard to forget at 400 pounds. I know it's a lot to ask but other than driving all the way up there from Baltimore I'm not sure what else to do. I can provide specifics in a private message if anyone is kind enough to try.

Sending positive vibes over. Hope your friend is well. I would go check but I don't live in that area.

Hey Programbo, you could try Jeep Wrangler Club of WNY, most members are in that area, someone might be able to help, and they're pretty active on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/jwcwny/

Hope your friend is OK

Just wanted to thank the people who replied to my posting. I just found out today my friend in Buffalo died on September 30th (The day after I started this thread). I still need to find out what exactly happened as I had my last contact with him on September 17th.
