^-yer right bout shad landing--i just found out that it is temporarily shut-down--a little more diggin produced a 1000 vehicle weight limit---sheez--that means total body off wheelin?? --there are a gaggle of 1-8 mile trails spread around western maryland--but again green ridge is the biggest!

if you turn left at the light by gateway subaru and go straight down the road about a half mile and you will come to a set of railroad tracks. just on the other side of the tracks to your left there is a dirt road/ path and you follow that back to an open area and there is a retention pond back there
