My buddy told me they have some DEEP mudholes back there. Been wanting to go up and see the modifieds running them...

yeah about the mud holes..... I slid into one while trying to skirt around it. Half the jeep was in it and the drivers side wheels were just in the water/mud and the pass side was in the worst and was no means on the bottom. Exhaust was covered, now granted I have 31s on a 3.5 lift but it was sloppy lol. Stock XJ tugged me out, and while we were enjoying frosty beverages a GC with a 6.5 LA on 38s went through the one I was in and had some mud get in the door and the last one he stalled in and the back end was floating lol They are pretty deep up there. Saw 2 modifieds up there but they weren't mudding.

That's what I'm beginning to notice. I've found rugged ridge ones for 00-06 TJ's that are around 250. They say offroad only but have the spots for O2 sensors so not sure why they aren't legal for street. Either way I'm registered in Michigan and they have no inspection or emissions standards so not like it really matters. I'm just not completely sure the TJ ones will fit, comes down to frame clearance and downpipe setup and so on. My header isn't cracked but my cat is toast and the hanger on the mid pipe is gone and the flange from the down pipe to the mid pipe and the top flanges off the header to the down pipes are rusted solid so I was going to do a whole exhaust system upgrade, I might just have to take it somewhere and pay them to cut the old out and weld all new in from the down pipe back. Guess I'm screwed either way, damn y-piped 2000's!

Don't feel bad Mike, had it not been for you and newbiegirl getting stuck in that hole I probably would've went for it too, I really wanted to get on the other side of the quarry and roam around and that seemed like the only way acrossed.

From what I read, the frame doesn't allow a TJ header. I needed a new cat and muffler, so I was just gonna do everything. No reason to replace those if you have the kink in the stock pipe that restricts it to 1.5" diameter.

Yeah I had a blast, high centered once but with a little running start cleared it, had to reroute our course once due to the jeep not fitting and I did get pretty stuck in a mud hole I slid into luckily a stock cherokee came along and was kind enough to tug me out *and share a budweiser and cherry vodka* lol
You can run 12.5 width on 8 inch wide wheels. I'm running 11.5 no problem right now. You need at least 3.75" of back spacing too.

We took the wrong line....I think I could have gotten through it if I would have hugged the side I ended up on trying to tug her out

I'm running a 12.5 on an 8. The only thing is having it on the 8 inch wheel makes the tire look skinnier than if it was on a 10 inch wheel

Damn, well that just sucks. And I know what you mean about replacing all of it. The restriction is upfront, having better flow out back doesn't really change a lot, performance wise anyways. The only header I've found that specifically says 2000-01 XJ is the Banks and it's 475+!

Edit: Found Flow Daddy headers on Rusty's that say they work for 00-01 XJ's and they're only 275. Might give them a call to be sure they'll work but if they do......... SCORE!!!!
