hey guys, finally got some good news. the landlord and the dad-in-law have decided they want us out of this house so bad, theyll pay us to go. thye are paying for the repairs to Anya at a local shop ( yay! ), the travel costs and uhaul rental costs, and the first month rent/security deposit on our new place. they are also paying for something awesome. a trailer hitch for Anya! ^_^ so once shes fixed and on the road next week, they are giving me the cash and booting me to crazy rays to grab one. so i figured, hell, why do it alone? after inviting him, tim suggested inviting all of you guys to come out as well. ill have to get back to you on an exact date, but some time next week or the week after. probably right before the trip to hagerstown, which i WILL be attending no matter what it takes.
( btw, yesterday i had to kick in the basement door to get into this house after they locked us out....dunno if any of you have ever had to do it, but DAMN its fun, lol. )

hey, your buddy with the barn wouldnt happen to have some extra space for a potential tenant? a tenant with a passion for the outdoors, and a wife with experience caring for/riding horses, if they have any?

You know I just mounted mine, but I am using the same size that I needed to mount my trailer hitch. I have some bolts I could measure it out for you if you want..
PA Speaker is a PA Speaker they all have the same connection.
Just remember size does make a difference when it comes to how loud it will be. I picked one up for $10 shipped and it fits between the fender wall and my stock air box under the hood. I believe it is either 4 or 8 ohms. It is water proof & mud proof (both have been tested) and people can hear that plenty when I speak.
As far as whips go, a 100+ whip is a 100+ whip, they will all be metal.
There is no real "brand" when it comes to whips.
As far as antennas go, my personal preferences and leader in the industry is Wilson Antennas. You can get a nice Wilson that the trucker uses and mount it to a fender, bumper or tail light and get some good range with that.
I have the wilson 1000 base load antenna
(the 5000 is overkill unless i want to start talking to australia, but then i would need to start updating other parts im not ready for yet.)

I would suggest for your application the wilson 2000 or wilson 5000 trucker antenna.

All their antennas have the ability to switch out the whip to get more distance or shorter distance if that is the preference.
I think "stock" they send a 46" antenna for the trucker and 62" for the base load.
Of course if your mounting it to the tail light a 46" would still stick above the roof line. which is still fine. If you swap out the antenna for a 62"+ you can mount it to the bumper and it will still be just above the roof line.
I have a 72"? model if I recall right. and as you can see it is way up there in the sky sitting on top of my roof.
You can pick up different length whips from specialty (cb) shops or usually at trucker rest stops.

Also, if you could measure those bolts (and washers if you have some), I'd appreciate it.

The orings you can pick up at the parts store, but the pintle caps and micro filters are special order. I get the full kit off a seller on Bonanza for like $18.

Went into home depot yesterday in Annapolis and when I came out there were two lifted cherokee's parked next to mine. One green and one dark blue. Just wanted to know if either of you are on this forum?
