So the apartment manager, after 3 hours of arguing, broke out the bombshell that she knew I had someone living with me. Armed with that, she said I have no excuse for not paying all my insane power bills because I don't know what the ***** was doing when I wasn't home.
Then I pointed out that my heat STILL doesn't work right, even after they "fixed" it in November. Maintenance guy came out to check it, and sure enough, it was jacked. He replaced the thermostat, my heat works properly, and I'm pretty sure the $1325 bill since October is still on them.

My heat pump was running 24/7 with the fan turning on and off. Then they fixed that in November so the fan was running 24/7 with the heat pump turning on and off. When I tried to explain this, she told me that's how it's supposed to work. I nearly choked her.
She tried to corner me into a choice between admitting that I was subletting, or paying the bill so she didn't have to worry about it. I told her the girl she saw was a friend from out of town who stayed with me for 2 weeks, and that the heat was turned off during that time because neither of us was home much. Combined with the fact that faulty equipment was installed in my apartment twice, I think I still have a case.

The manager is denying that I've come back and talked to her since they "fixed" it in November, even though I've been there 5 or 6 times. I don't have any proof, so there's no point in even arguing that with her. She's saying because I didn't complain about it until just now, I'm making up excuses so I don't have to pay the bill. When my supervisor walked in, she immediately said she doesn't want any problems cause I'm a good tenant. **** this place.
