When they built the house, they put in a drainage ditch that ran down the side of the yard and across right in front of the deck. Guess they didn't slope it we'll enough to get the water out, so now I have a mini pond. Gonna put in the drain and level out the yard

 

That's always my concern with a house with a French drain. They screw up you get flooding
