Default MASCOTT'S 2000 update

This was also posted under 2000 Jeep Knock

Well the diagnosis is replace the engine. The sound is coming from the inside of the engine and there is no repair. Anybody know where I can get an engine? and install? Looks like I'm down, but I'm not out........I'll ride again

So much for my recommendation about this shop. They will not do compression test because it's in lower part of engine and is not a compression problem, they will not remove valve to inspect head because they feel it's a waste of time. I'm not a cussing woman but I'm about too. He did mention a bearing, but that was all. They just listened to the noise and hooked it up to get codes. I could have went to Amoco and had them do the same darn thing for free.

CAN SOMEBODY THAT KNOWS JEEPS, HAS A SHOP OR GARAGE.....PLEASE HELP ME !!!! I definitely don't have $1600 for a motor

I've done offered to come down, pull the oilpan and do a visual inspection. Remember, the more you drive it, the more damage you may be doing to your jeep. I will be down in the area Sunday, all I ask is that you cover my tolls and part of my gas (Meeting one of our forum members Sunday in Centreville, I live in Elkton). You will need an oilpan gasket and oil though...

If you're coming to Annapolis I can meet you there and lend a hand, it'll save me a little gas and that bay bridge toll

$3500? That's a steal for that. It's in Illinois.

When I redid my Jeep floors I moved mine back. My wife can't drive it now. Coincidence? You decide....

I'll take you up on your offer. I must have missed the post where you made the offer, I could have given you the $70 that I just threw away today. How much oil do I need? Do you have any idea as to what time on Sunday? my daughter is doing her trial sermon at 2pm on Sunday

It's not going to be too early, as I will be out at Rausch all day Saturday, and running on fumes to boot
You will need an oil catchpan, 6 qts of oil and make sure you get a 1 piece oilpan gasket.

Mike, how does 10AM sound???
