Who here has actually rebuilt a transfer case? I pulled my 231 with SYE last fall and it needs a master rebuild.

The one I bought from Frosty and put in has a different length SYE and it changed the angles on my pinion.

True, but its better than trying to replace a pinion bearing if someone has that problem.

IIRC Everstart, Duralast, and Diehard are all JCI batteries so they should be essentially the same.

No matter the brand good rule is to not go for the cheapest/bottom of the barrel variant - so the MAXX, Gold, Platinum etc etc are probably good choices

Platinum is made by Odyssey.

Kind of surprised though - I looked at equivalent group 34 batteries (since not everyone makes a group 58 like I have)...pretty disappointed in some what i though was good

Odyssey Extreme - 1050 CA / 880 CCA / 135 minute reserve [$250]
DEKA Ultimate - 1020 CA / 820 CCA / 115 minute reserve [$160]
Interstate Mega-Tron Plus - 1000 CA / 800 CCA / 85 minute reserve [$130]
Diehard Platinum Marine - ??? CA / 880 CCA / 135 minute reserve [$230]
Optima Yellowtop - 870 CA / 750 CCA / 120 minute reserve [$250]
Optima Redtop - 1000 CA / 800 CCA / 100 minute reserve [$210]

I'll stick with my Duralast Gold - way more for your money IMO and i don't need a AGM battery at this point
