To this day, I could hang with my dad all day long, everyday. We have always had a good time together and have shared similar interests. My mother, long distance relationship is best.

Well still trying to decide if I wanna join this redneck frat. I enjoy the people, party's and we all have the same majors. Time isn't a major concern. Just not sure if I want to commit to it. And $400 a semester is a little tough.
They like me enough, due to my eagle scout, ffa awards, farm and forest experience. Considering straight up telling them. That basically I really enjoy what you have but I just can't commit nor I can put the money towards it.

1) Why pay to have friends? (at college you will always find folks to drink with for free).
OR
2) If you are going into a field where the depth of the connections and opportunities that this frat can offer will benefit your future career, then look at it as an investment in your future.
JMO, but it sounds more like the first scenario. If they won't let you drink with them unless you pony up the $800 a year, then you are better off without them.
For whatever it is worth....
Two ways to look at this Aaron.
