Buddy came over the shop, showed him the flare gun. I told him the smoke can will launch like 300ft. He points it down my driveway and launches the smoke can.... right into the middle of 32. Apparently he is a bad judge of distance....****ing hysterical though, almost caused like 5 accidents.

Rob:
- check and fill trans fluid, engine running, in park or neutral
- disconnect the TCU under the dash, and try driving it by shifting manually. You won't have 2nd or overdrive but if you can cycle though the other gears fine then the transmission is fine.
- NSS cleaning as Alec suggested.

After sleeping on it, i've decided going to clean the NSS and change/check the fluid. If that fixes it, then i'll keep it auto for now but i'm still going to acquire the parts for a 5 speed swap to do it eventually. But at least i can drive my Jeep again.

Took the blue XJ for a little spin today.
This time it did shift into the higher gear, but when i floor it it wasn't normal. It doesn't roar the engine and go. It just slowly builds up speed. So i'm also going to adjust the kick down cable.
Maybe that and the NSS cleaning will get it right again.
