Your just.missing the inspection cover. Someone had it off, probably to tighten the torque converter bolts and didn't feel like wrestling it back into place. I know mine put up a helluva fight coming out and going back in. Just grab one and the bolts next time your at the junkyard.

I am sure I can swing by if Rob is home or at work. I looked up the shape of the part and will have to look tomorrow if mine has been turned or if part is missing.

He might be able to get away with unbolting the transmission and wiggling it back enough so the plate can be rotated back into position.
Personally I'd grab an inspection plate and just trim it to fit the opening, but I'm a bit of a redneck like that.

They all are. Trust me. Cost me about $900 to get the jeep 100% inspected and ready drive. So im about 2k deep in 2 weeks. Also, when i got home i still smelt a gas leak. Grrr!
