What are the 5 TREAD Principles?
Travel Responsibly on land by staying on designated roads, trails and area. Go over, not around, obstacles to avoid widening the trails. Cross streams only at designated fords. when possible, avoid wet, muddy trails. On water, stay ondesignated waterways and launch your watercraft in designated areas.
Respect the Rights of Others including private property owners, all recreational trail users, campers and others so they can enjoy their recreational activities undsiturbed. Leave gates as you found them. Yield rightof way to those passing your or going uphill. On water, respect anglers, swimmers, skiers, boaters, divers and those on or near shore.
Educate Yourself prior to your trip by obtaining travel maps and regulations from public agencies. Plan for your trip, take recreation skills classes and know how to operate your equipment safely.
Avoid Sensitive Areas on land such as meadows, lakeshores, wetlands and streams. Stay on designated routes. This protects wildlife habitats and sensitive soils from damage. Don’t disturb historical, archeological or paleontological sites. On water, avoid operating your watercraft in shallow waters or near shorelines at high speeds.
Do Your Part by modeling appropriate behavior, leaving the area better than you found it, properly disposing of waste, minimizing the use of fire, avoiding the spread of invasive species and repairing degraded areas.

Sounds a little close minded....i don't see any of the above as political.

At least I am not arguing. It's like seeing a bunch of people on drugs...and handing them a DARE pamphlet....

Just trying to help.

DNR says it's ok. I'm going with them lol. I actually like what you posted though. I agree with keeping the trails narrow by going over the obstacles, and not turning everything into a giant bowl. The do your part should also be common sense. I hate finding evidence that other people have been in the area and trashed it, such as trash and debris and god knows what else.

I was thinking about bringing mine. I live so close I figured I'd see what all was going on first and grab him later in the day. You bringing yours?

I have been to their website....and read the meeting minutes to stay up to date, and stay in contact with our rep to them on their 10 member outreach team. They don't list Bowie State trails as a legal trail system.

Met Mongril (Vic) this morning when he swung by to pick up a h/l harness. Good guy and he's got a rig that's all business. I got some good ideas for the next few mods on Colin's XJ. You wouldn't figure him for a fan of ICP when you meet him. :-)

You guys have fun out there at BSU and watch out for the Goatman. You're in his neck of the woods.
