anyone know why land rovers seem to have such a low resale value?
I see a ton on CL but they are never very expensive.
eg 01 with leather & only 74 K miles

They're not cheap new but I have seen quite a few over the last few months for as little as $1500-2000.
Are they plagued with the electrical issues that British cars are infamous for?

I figure someone will reply because they are a POS but that isn't really the answer I am looking for.

Money pits. If its not mechanical its electrical and to fix anything will easily run a couple grand.

Have a buddy who used to wheel one. loved it till it needed to be fixed at the tune of 10k

Any recommendations for di-electric grease?
Permatex is good and they sell it at Vatozone and Pepboys, etc. Here's a picture of the tube. Note that any non-conductive silicone grease is fine. If you do decide to use it on a connector, splice etc., that spot has to be DRY. When in doubt use electrical contact cleaner/maf sensor spray to make sure the contact is free of moisture before applying dielectric.

If as it sounds, both lights are dark and the harness has individual connections from the alt/batt + to each ballast and lamp, the first place I would look is the old h/l connector on the passenger side. The HID harness uses that connector to trigger the relays when you use the stock switch and wires from that switch to the old h/l connector. The "trigger" connector from the new harness should be firmly plugged into that old connector. Otherwise, no lumens.

JCR and THOR also make a similar product but theirs includes light boxes for LED taillights but they don't include the rail

Semi related, was to talking to some kids at school about all my car issues. After I mentioned how old barney was. He went on to tell me that was my whole problem. I went on to say how I was as fortunate as him to have everything handed to me in life ( this kid has a brand new car). Then I walked away
