Could be shock bushing. I have a rear shock that's missing the lower bushing, and it bangs every time I hit a 1" bump. Really annoying.

Both my rear shocks have blown out their upper bushings, I took one off and the other one started doing it. It chatters on small bumps but is quiet on the highway so its not to annoying. I'm gonna get BPE's for the rear when I put the shocks back on.
