Well....for 96 and under....you need a seal because you have to remove the tailcone. By the time you buy that, the seal, the bit and tap, you may have spent close to the cost of a full SYE with a heavy duty output shaft.
At least this was my thinking when I considered it. An SYE can be had for $159 with free shipping.

Anyone have a pic of the front of their xj at night with all then front lights on? I honestly don't know what's supposed to be on and not on.

--whut????--lemme see, headlights? check,side markers? check, turn signals? check, and if ya have factory drive lamps, they would have to be turned on, and anything else would be aftermarket

i as going to do the hack and tap kit for my xj with the 242 but after looking more and more i think ima spend the extra and get a full kit with a new shaft and all from tom woods http://www.4xshaft.com/
