ah, well atleast its an easy fix. Find a nut that fits and install, then tighten till you almost break it lol

 

the engine reaches the closed loop point in under a minute, so waiting that long is not necessary.

 

I only waited that long when I had my old thermostat. If its 20 and below I will go and start it early so I have heat right away.

No. It's not. If the threads on that trackbar have play in them now because the manufacturer failed to put on the jam nut before shipping it, they owe you a replacement trackbar. Once the threads are elongated they don't work correctly anymore. Even if you put a jam nut on the bar, no amount of tightening will keep it from moving or loosening back up.

 

so if she takes the bar off and the threads are knackered then run a die down them... then you aren't without jeep while you wait on the replacement....

no die will fix the issue of elongated/deformed threads in a axial force situation - you'd only end up making it worse by removing material. The threads need to be tight and in good contact with each other to keep the joint from loosening up.
