I do, but it's leaking pretty steadily now. I'm not 100% sure if I want to wait another few weeks for the SYE / driveshaft. I still need to allocate funds.

any ideas on how to upload a video from my phone? ive tried doing it to the app, but the app keeps crashing whenever i pick the video, also tried emailing it to myself, and even straight to youtube...nada.

I called Curtis Tatton and talked to him about the kits he sells. The prices are very reasonable. He said he sells the Terraflex SYEs. Are these ok? I don't know anything about them.

I've never done a pinion seal. Is there much involved. We could get into Fort Meade auto hobby shop at 4pm when I get off work but it's first come first serve.

I read a couple how to's, not much involved at all. Just need air for the center nut, I forget the name of it. I bought the correct sized socket for it already. I just txt you, give me a ring when you get a chance.

You have the LP D30 right? Doesn't that one have a crush sleeve? I know my HP doesn't but I heard the LP does. What do you do about the crush sleeve? Are you going to buy a new one or just mark the old one?

If it is anything like my buddy's 10 bolt it takes a guy on each axle end with pry bars to keep the axles from rotating and a guy with the socket and a HUGE cheater bar to crush the sleeve lol

Edit: for my 9" I made a tool to hold the yoke while you crush the sleeve, not sure what the bolt pattern is on the 30's yoke but you are more then welcome to use my tool if need be.

One thing I can tell you after all my research....all SYE's are made by TRW and just rebadged. Just get the one you need for the best price you can find.

Yea apparently the LP has a crush sleeve. I would just mark the current one, direction and thread count protrusion. That's what the general consensus seems to be.

There is a crush sleeve, but you don't need to mess with it IF you record the starting rotational torque value before removing the nut. You WILL need a in-lb BEAM/DIAL style torque wrench for this job.

From the 2000 FSM:
(1) Raise and support the vehicle.
(2) Remove wheel and tire assemblies.
(3) Remove brake rotors and calipers.
(4) Mark the propeller shaft and pinion yoke for
installation reference.
(5) Remove the propeller shaft from the yoke.
(6) Rotate the pinion gear three or four times.
(7) Measure the amount of torque necessary to
rotate the pinion gear with a (in. lbs.) dial-type
torque wrench. Record the torque reading for installation
reference.
(8) Using something to hold the pinion yoke,
remove the pinion nut and washer.
(9) remove the pinion yoke
(10) Use a suitable pry tool or a slide hammer
mounted screw to remove the pinion shaft seal.

INSTALLATION
(1) Apply a light coating of gear lubricant on the
lip of pinion seal. Install seal with socket and hammer
(2) Install yoke on the pinion gear
(3) Install the pinion washer and a new nut on the
pinion gear. Tighten the nut only enough to
remove the shaft end play.
(4) Tighten pinion nut to 160 ft. lbs.
(5) Rotate the pinion shaft using a (in. lbs.) torque
wrench. Rotating torque should be equal to the reading
recorded during removal, plus an additional 5 in. lbs.
(6) If the rotating torque is low, hold the pinion yoke, and tighten the pinion shaft nut in5 ft. lbs. increments until proper
rotating torque is achieved.
(7) Align the installation reference marks on the
propeller shaft and yoke, and install the propeller
shaft.
(8) Check and fill the gear lubricant.
(9) Install the brake rotors and calipers.
(10) Install wheel and tire assemblies.
(11) Lower the vehicle.
