Just stuck a digital multimeter on the battery ...
12.67 VDC
Cranking was sluggish and voltage only dropped down to about ...
11.57 VDC
Guage on the dash showed a bigger drop .... seems like power from the battery isn't getting to where it is needed??
Of course my DMM could be off, but not by that much.

Jimmy, how would you feel about doing my open cooling swap tonight? I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with it. New rad, hoses, heater core, thermostat housing.

Keep in mind the rough/unable to idle issue only occurs AFTER I have difficulty cranking/starting.
At that point the system power is probably pulled down so low that it might cause a hiccup in the computer ??????
At first I thought the issue was a hot issue, but the failure to crank/start occurred when it was stone cold after an evening ride from Bel Air to BWI and back with the headlights ON.

Sounds like fun.
This problem is odd ....
Jeep started fine this morning, drove it for over 1 1/2 hours non stop. ( Bel Air to airport and back )
Drove to the shop to talk to a tech, we shut it down and it started and ran fine.
Drove 1.7 miles to my house, parked and shut it down.
Waited two minute to restart and it was lethargic in cranking, when it did start after a bit of sluggish cranking it was idling rough.
Drove it 1.7 miles back to the shop and the idle was fine.
Tomorrow the plan is to remove, clean, and reinstall all cable ends. Make sure everything is tightened up just right.
I do have a spare new starter in the shop and may just toss that in. After all it will be disconnected for the cleaning, might as well pull the two bolts and throw it in.

not sure if that's related to your issues at all...maybe worth checking out.
