I need to have my 98 ZJ Limited professionally investigated.
I f*&^king hate throw hard parts at a problem without truly knowing what's up!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
At least we got good weather this weekend.
Here is something odd ........ when I have the problem this is how it goes ..
Jeep cranks very slowly as if it was lethargic. Sometimes it stops cranking, then it cranks slow, then it might crank faster and even START.
I had it 'tested' at the shop and their machine said " Low Volt Output From Alternator. "
Threw in a new alternator and all is good ...... NOT !!!!
Now I am thinking, bad regulator? That means PCM ...... another $240.00
Wouldn't be so bad if I had an endless supply of cash!
Oh the battery in the ZJ is less than one year old.

Just did a quick DVM Volts test ....
At idle ...... 13.8 Volts at the battery
At Idle Headlights On HIGH BEAMS .... 13.78 Volts
In both conditions, the volts had a slight variation of around .01 - .02 volts.
