I need to have my 98 ZJ Limited professionally investigated.
I f*&^king hate throw hard parts at a problem without truly knowing what's up!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

At least we got good weather this weekend.
Here is something odd ........ when I have the problem this is how it goes ..
Jeep cranks very slowly as if it was lethargic. Sometimes it stops cranking, then it cranks slow, then it might crank faster and even START.
I had it 'tested' at the shop and their machine said " Low Volt Output From Alternator. "
Threw in a new alternator and all is good ...... NOT !!!!

Now I am thinking, bad regulator? That means PCM ...... another $240.00

Wouldn't be so bad if I had an endless supply of cash!

Oh the battery in the ZJ is less than one year old.

Get a pcm from the jy. Also crack open your current one and look for a short.

Just did a quick DVM Volts test ....

At idle ...... 13.8 Volts at the battery

At Idle Headlights On HIGH BEAMS .... 13.78 Volts

In both conditions, the volts had a slight variation of around .01 - .02 volts.

WTH happened last night..looks like i missed alot...

Frosty, hope all is well.

on a side note...do cherokee drivers not wave, head nod or anything to another cherokee drivers? i saw a good lookin lifted cherokee yesterday on 95 with new york tags. i tried letting him get next to me but he just stayed behind me the whole time. and then this morning a lifted green cherokee with tinted windows got next to me on 95, lost them at the tolls, and than rode my a$$ all the way down the 295 exit ramp.

I always return waves and initiate when its a modded XJ, there are a few around by me that aren't on the forum or atleast not in the MD thread and dont return waves but they are younger kids... *no offense*

The ones I have seen wave, usually out the window and enthusiastically.
