yeah, good timing.

also, Blue XJ defroster/heat is not working, and there's some sort of gas that leaks out of the vents every now and then, and it's making all the windows fog extremely bad.

we're thinking we're going to have to get the heater core replaced anyway for the heat, but there seems to be a leak of something somewhere. ideas?

Email from my First Sergeant 15 minutes ago, slightly edited for locations:

"Team,

I did a route recon of [the local roads] on my way home today with several observations:

Winds have picked up significantly

Lots of limbs and debris already in the road

[The creeks] are roaring and running into the road in several spots

There is lots of runoff from the high banks along the roads

At one point, one lane of traffic had to stop for debris in the road, wait for opposite lane to clear and then proceed

Please use extreme caution if you have travel.* I think we can only assume these conditions will worsen throughout the night.* I strongly recommend that you don't travel during the hours of darkness if at all possible.* The potential for flooded roadways, fallen debris and unannounced stops presents an even greater danger when visibility is restricted by darkness.

Monitor your phones and Blackberry devices for continuous updates and guidance from the Command."

Five minutes later, I got an email saying my shift tonight is no longer 7-7; it's now 5:30pm-9am if not later, due to the storm. Good chance I'll be told to stay til at least 7pm tomorrow

Just got another call telling me to stay home, followed by a callback from the same guy telling me he changed his mind. This bothers me far more than the weather. Guess I'm leaving now. Have a good night and stay.....
He just called back and told me to stay home. No ****...
