I sprayed mine liberally with degreaser (I think I used Krud Kutter or Simple Green), and then I went to a self-wash bay and rinsed it off with the hose. You could use a garden hose if you have one. You won't hurt anything if it's low pressure water. Might run funny if you get a sensor wet, but that'll fix itself when it dries.
