Sitting here watching a documentary on "poor" people in the USA. Every single one of them own their own house and property and have newer vehicles than I do. If that is poor, wtf am I?

Shortly after my daughter was born, we applied for WIC, food stamps, and some other financial aide. We were approved for WIC, due to it being a stand alone organization, and it did help tremendously and we were grateful. Went to apply for food stamps, sitting in the office of the counselor, and she point blank told us that we, "..were the wrong color and will never be approved in this area for food stamps no matter our financial situation."

My wife is from Thailand, has been here for about 8 years now. Came here legally and proper, stayed here legally and proper. Believe me, it is and has been a problem, and expensive. Only cause she went thru the right channels and did everything the way it supposed to be done. If she hadn't, it would of been free/cheap, and we could have had loads of assistance financially.
For us to initially file, when we were first married, it was right at $2,800. Should of kept the receipt, maybe I could return her and get my money back.....
