* In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a syrup or a jam. "

I'll gladly defer to the wisdom of the group. I obviously have limited experience with affinity forums and had no idea what i was getting myself into. I got a Jeep from my 87 year old neighbor who is wrapping up his worldly affairs. I gave him $225 for it which was an arbitrary number we came up with because that was the dollar amount of his last service visit. We decided it would be easier that i buy it for a nominal fee rather than get into the issues of gifting with MVA. I say inherit because the reason he gave it to me is he is preparing to wind down and I am the guy who helps him in his yard, lift heavy stuff etc... He didn't offer the vehicle for sale to anyone else and i certainly didn't pay market value for it as the tires are worth more than $225. He was the only owner of the vehicle and has all service records from new.

I got on this forum to find out why it over heats. Chevy wife and Chevy guy were kind enough to come by and help me take out the thermostat and boil it and determine that it was faulty. while at my home they called the one who goes by Jakbob. He asked something about gauge placement and then determined that my Jeep was in fact harboring an illegitimate dashboard and incorrect miles and went about trumpeting that from where ever he could to whoever would listen never having seen or inspected my vehicle.

All i came on here to find was a good mechanic, some information about Jeeps and some fellowship with fellow Jeepers. If it is determined that i need to look elsewhere for that i can and will leave you to peace.

I have no other idea of what to do though when someone who hasnt seen my ride is going about making claims about it. it seems ridiculous to me it is still going on and yet no offer to stop in and have a look has been accepted.

If you prefer I take my Jeep questions and concerns elsewhere please advise. If you want to start over with a fresh look at my ride please advise. If you just want to throw stones from afar let em know and I will graciously exit.

thanks to those who genuinely helped and answered questions and reached out.

You're right - it shouldn't matter if the jeep has had a cluster swap, or an engine swap, or if the build sheet shows something else different - it's pretty much all the same when it comes to diagnostics. Carry on and we'll help where we can.

All are welcome....we just need to drop this subject now.

Sometimes a battle of wills stays just that...a battle of wills.

Jakbob surely will not change his stance, and niether will you.

The rest of us are not choosing sides, but are victims of the stray bullets in your battle...which is why we ask...

Can we just change the ****ing subject already?

Hey info...how you doin'? Nice find there.
