I want to talk to you about my front bumper while I have you Saturday. I want to be able to cut out the front cross member behind the bumper so I can mount a hidden winch....and want to be able to mount shackle mounts up front (yes, I am going to leaf spring my XJ).....

With that said. I have 6 feet of 2" 1/4 wall DOM sitting here at my house. This stuff sells for almost $20 a foot. I will sell 6 feet of it for $75 if anyone wants it to make long arms. I was going to, but changed my mind.

You talking about chopping up the core support? Ever think about just recessing the winch completely in a bumper? or go winch plate and just have provisions for the receiver in the front.

Yea, I usually go by Oliver, but Cordelias brother canceled it out. Didn't want two Olivers. Enough of a problem with Mikes and Tims, lol

I hate how much winch bumpers stick out....not a fan of limiting approach angles. I have a buddy who did it....heck, 3/16" steel is stronger than the core support. He built a bracket inside, with bumper mounts on the outside, so the frame on both sides was sandwiched, and the core support basically ended up being replaced with a winch plate mounted horizontally rather than the vertical core support.

Makes more sense now, for some reason I was seeing a gaping hole with a winch stuffed in it ... coffee needed!
