**** where can i get or rent one of those fance tools for fixing the joints, and auto zone have the replacments? is it an asap kind of thing or can i wait a week or to, moneys tight and its my dd so idk loll

 

First, you have to figure out which one it is. The tool can be rented at Advance....free, you just have to leave a deposit. And yes, you can get u-joints anywhere.

As far as how long will it last? Anyone's guess.

 

a tool? i used 2 2x4's propped on their sides and a hammer.....

 

A ball joint press makes them easy-peasy.

 

I have the ball joint press from Harbor Freight, as you saw Sunday, works great (and I have done 4 ball joints, 3 of my own U-Joints + the 3 Sunday and going strong)

A press makes it sooooooo much easier, trust me

If it turns out to be one of the axle U-Joints you are going to need a 36mm socket and a 12 point socket (I think it's 13mm?) for removing wheel bearing hub...

Oh I totally agree Mike, just used what I had handy at the time. A press in on the list of tools needed, was just further down, no it's moved up closer to the top.

3 on the front drive shaft and one on each wheel joint, yes. 2 on a stock rear drive shaft and 3 on a double cardin rear drive shaft if you're running a SYE kit.
