Opta carries Coal slag ie Black Beauty and Starlite
Trust me, the fine coal slag will take it down to bare metal

Oh I know all about black gravel, I mean black beauty. The problem is it generates so much heat. But since he is blasting a tire swing its heavy gauge structural steel so it won't make a difference except with cost.

So do I.... Had to run 1/4" liners made out of AR plate in the chutes, cause it would cut through in a matter of DAYS
Once a month I would have to hardface the grooves in the AR plate....
Job Security there

I went to an eye appointment while I was working there, they pulled 2 fine slag splinters out of my eye, and I always wear eye protection.
I could tell you some stories about that place

We seldom run it now unless customers request it cause its so harsh. Al/ox, plastic and 16grit carbide mostly now, occasional steel shot or garnet. And I am all about job security ....but your running an incinerator now aren't you? Lol

Thankfully I haven't had a missed time accident or any for that matter. There have been some good ones here though, including my father huperextending his pinky finger with an endmill. Needless to say he doesn't wear gloves around the thing anymore lol

Knock on wood, I've only had one lost time accident, and that was a really bad welding flash....
Needless to say I wear safety glasses under my shield now unless I'm using a buzzbox
