Well Like I said it all depends on Amtrak, NJT, and of course Mother Nature. Got stuck in The City during the blackout of 03, stuck in the Hudson tunnel when Amtrak lost power (second to last train to get pulled out), barely made it out of NYC due to flooding (took the PATH out, and made it as far as Journal Square before someone ventured out and picked me up) when we had that April Nor'easter a couple of years back, got stuck in Elizabeth (and was on News12) when we had that heatwave 2 years back with trains overheating, tracks buckling, and overhead wires breaking, and of course the Portal Bridge getting stuck in the raised position (near daily deal). I hate being at the mercy of others. At least I can be thankful that I don't have to fly (much). Funny thing the last couple of blizzards I was the only one who made it in (and was involved in that snowball fight in Times Square (that was too much fun!)). Waded through waist deep (and some chest deep) snow drifts to the train station (NYC subways rock). Within the next year I'll be at Metropark, and once in a while driving up to Totowa.
