I'm taking out the blown up 9 1/4 and replacing it with one I got out of a 03 dakota...still 9 1/4. My 01 Dakota is slowly falling apart, but I need to keep it going for a few more years.

30 years in the business and I still don't have a lift in my garage. As a mater of fact I do most of my repairs in front of the garage......couldn't get a car in there if I wanted to......LOL

May have found a good deal on a TJ D44 and the seller is willing to weld perches on. Includes a d30 hp housing with knuckles and gears. Anything I should look out for?
you'll have to weld shock mounts on too (they are different). Brake lines may need to be re-routed also. Same gear ratio as you have now?

Different ratio. I have 3.55 and they are 3.73. I may buy it and let it sit until I can buy 4.88s for it. I already have 4.88s for my d30hp d35 but ill sell the rear set if anyone is interestedOriginally Posted by dukie564

IMO it's not worth it then - too much work for not a lot of strength gain. May as well do all of the same work on an 8.8.

I finally have some money saved for the gear install. I have the install kits and r&p, but need someone to install them. Any recommended places in south jersey? Or anyone on here have the tools and experience? I just want my power back

I called them. Their price was $650 for the labor. I was hoping to spend less than $400 on laborOriginally Posted by surfingg19
Did you ever try and call the guys that are out in Vineland, unworthy4x4? They have a nice shop and do some nice work
