really?? c mon you live in an awesome area. take a short ride over to the woods in the mays landing area or over to wharton state forest....just go on googlemaps or bing.com and look at the satellite images and it'll give you a pretty good idea of where to go. just look for the big green patches...almost every big tract of land around here is state owned and assessable due to the fire roads

x2 on Wharton. so many places to explore around back there.
there are also some cool places down in ocean county like on 55. check out google maps and go explore. there are all sorts of sand mining sites that are abandoned that are awesome.

nope no stickers or permits or anything, its all free game as long as its state owned land (which 95% of it is) and the other 5% is usually owned by the cranberry bogs who don't really care. the only permit you would need is one to drive on the beach, and even then i still do it every now and then in the winter and haven't had or heard of any problems

the biggest problem i'm having is that in salem county, it's all farm land, so there's plenty of open spaces, but try and drive on it and you'll get ur *** filled with buck shot if you know what i mean. it seems like no matter what i do, i gotta drive 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. it just sux cuz i'm from colorado, and i'm not used to havin to drive so far to get muddy.

no matter where you are in salem county, there are multiple state forests that are great for wheeling that can be reached within an hour even if you drive slow, maybe one of us south jersey guys can show you around sometime
