Some pics I took...
This set is from the Closed section of Rt 65 and the cracks caused by the heat from the still burning underground mine fire. I think you can see some of the smoke rising from the ground in a few of the pics

I am still waiting for 2 more sets of pics from the other 2 jeeps that were there with us that day... we had my XJ, a 95 YJ and 2 KJ's...

there are the pics i promised... sorry it took so long to get them up, we all had a great time and maybe doing another run down there again later this summer...

it was more eerie than interesting, but the closed section of road was very interesting to see. as far as what is left of the town, there are a few houses and one main intersection and thats about it it.
Looks like you guys had a good time,
i'm not to far from there and never heard of it untill i came across this thread.
Looks like it would be a realy interesting place to explorer, just the history of it, and to see it would be realy cool.
please let me know if you guys plan to go back to further explore, would love to tag along.
