AOAA In Shamokin. PA Area
I figured I would pass word, since I haven't seen anything on here mentioned about it.
I was born and raised in Shamokin, PA for 20 Years until I left for the Navy 6 years ago. Over the last few years there has been talk of Northumberland County and partners putting in an Outdoor Adventure Area on 6,500+ acres of public land. It has been met with hard opposition by locals, but they are finally in the works of a master plan which should start sometime late 2011.
I think this is a great opportunity for the area and fully support the AOAA And Partners. This is NOT going to be just your run of the mill park. It will have hiking, biking, horse trails. You will be able to hunt during hunting season, and camping sites will be available. This park encompasses All things outdoors, and is said to rival Rausch Creek And Moab. I Can't wait to see this thing open. Quadratec is talking about opening their first store front in my town. I'll be stationed in Norfolk, VA for 4 years and I'll definitely make the 6+ hour drive to wheel there on the weekends.

Nice! Hopefully the locals let it happen. I remember when Paragon was starting up and everyone was against it. I'm from Hazleton so it's not too far of a ride for me.
