Western Maine Mountain Jeepers in Bethel ME does/did a right the first Saturday or Sunday of the Month. These are the guys that usually guides for the Jeep Jamboree. Also check your Almanac. In my area I would do a lot of riding non maintained roads.

Just noticed my post isn't very clear sorry. Posted at work at the end of a 16 hour shift.

Some areas that I did when I had a viable 4x4. Shagg Pond area there is a couple of roads that go over the mountains that were roads back when this area was all farm land. Road goes from Shagg Pond to Milton Township. (Shagg Pond Road on google maps). Please stay off during the thaw. Recently there has been a wind farm installation in that area. Logging areas off of Perkins Valley Road. Same idea alot of this area follows old farm roads. Ice Caves Road in Greenwood. Road is open sometimes.

My normal routine was to check the Delorme Maine Atlas & Gazetteer for my area and then compare to Google Earth/Maps. Drive by and see if it was posted. If it wasn't posted then I would give it a go.

Thanks for the reply. My folks live near Shagg and I go in the summer. Where is Ice Caves Rd in Greenwood? I never heard of it or know what road it's off of.

I have a close friend who's family lives In mapleton area. we used to go out on logging trails and such but there wasn't much for good marked trails. If you take the golden road from millinocket to Greenville, anything west of there around summerset county is in my opinion best place to wheel in the state

Stud Mill is the shizel, when you're not turning blind corners at 40mph looking out for big ***** logging trucks. Go camping off route 9 a couple times a year when I can.

Grew up in ME, Brunswick area.

Default rangeley

I live in the Rangeley area. 99 white xj lifted on 32s. I like taking old logging roads around smalls falls. Someone gave me that tip and I found some decent trails.
