Cool Another new XJ owner

Hey! As stated in the PA Cherokee thread, I'm a newbie here!

I'm new to the XJ scene, Husband and I bought ours last winter, its a 1990 Laredo. We paid $500 for it on Craigslist. Steal.

I wanted to finally post some photos of our jeep, she constantly looks like shes been dragged outta a swamp.

Any idea or imput on projects we should do is highly appreciated!! The back end sags a little, wanna fix that soon.

I just realised these photos make her look really nice. She really isn't. The paint on the hood is peeled and weathered. These photo's disguises her flaws!

Rear end sag is typical on a older XJ. I would get a complete lift for it with full leafs. No AAL's.
Upgrade the cooling system to a 94 also.
Nice find! Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome. I also second the full leaf packs with a lift. to be safe you can start with like 2.5 - 3'' because you can always add to it, unless you just wanna go 4.5'' long arms because youll end up there anyways lol

Thanks for the response guys! Would you recommend buying the full leafs with a lift or seeing if we can find some good ones at a u-pull?

Also any recommendations on lifts, been eyeing either 3'' or 4.5'' rough country or 4.5 zone.

I personally like Rustys offroad or iron rock offroad for lift kits. I have a pieced together Rustys lift which I got about 6" front and rear. I noticed that rough country rear leaf springs are not as good as Rustys or iron rock IMO.

That's the exact one I just ordered. I have the xj sag as well. It does have the full leaf packs instead of the add a leaf. Pretty easy to go up from there later.

What did you pick for the front coils? What is the difference? :P

I went with the 305 (HD) coils. The main difference is the spring rate. I plan on adding a winch bumper and wanted the heavier springs to handle the weight a little better. The standard springs are more than enough if you plan on keeping the front end as is.
