Yea man but it doesn't make sense. I went back and made sure all the bolts were torqued down after running it for an hour or so. The Rear main went it perfect and the pan gasket went up without a problem. I double checked everything and what's odd is that the oil that's leaking is leaking from the fly wheel area where the front of the tranny is and it's midnight black. I ran a quart through before I started filling her up with maxlife and I don't see it being possible that it turned black that fast. This has been an ongoing process over the past month. I've changed the valve cover gasket and the oil filter adapter o-rings as well. No other leaks on the engine except from the oil cap. I think the rubber o ring on that is shot. I'll take some more pictures later tonight, it's just frustrating cause this was my first rear main and everything kinda went smoothly. Sighs. I need to invest in another 4.0 to rebuild do I can just slap that in.

Did you use the tacky stuff that holds the gasket in place? Because there is a little part of the gasket that dips down in the back and follows the shape of the pan. Now, like me, when I put mine up it kept moving. I got the tacky gasket holder crap and boom... No issue.

I put a couple drops all around the bottom side of the pan gasket before I set it down on the pan. Also put a couple bolts on top of the gasket to hold it into the pan while I was lifting it up.
