I know this question should probably be in OEM tech, but would the injectors from a grand Cherokee with the 4.0 straight 6 work in my 88'? Could and or should I just swap the fuel rail as well?

The injectors will work as long as theyre EV1 style (same plug as the 88).

Sfjc has been meeting again on friday night at towers once a month about 4 months in now
