Haha....south Florida....what a place. Lived there twice (2001 & 2004/05). Stayed for the cane chasing, and a film project, left for medical reasons....hope to never go back.
Jersey Auto was a great place for decent parts to good quality at a pretty dang good price. But I only knew them to be in Dade County. Only Jeepers I remember were the hams. Good bunch of folks (way more honest than the typical S.Floridian). If they are still around and you have some questions...might try it. I remember them telling stories about going in the glades and flooding their truck(s) and spending a weekend getting all the water out of the engine (and there were driving that Jeep still).
I'm not at all surprised if the fact there is a lack of interest in Jeeps in FL...esp. Cherokees. Open tops, sure...great chick cars in FL...and ghetto rides with 30" dubs...lol. I remember when "Donks" was a homestead/Florida City thing only (2001).
I do miss the glades though. Amazingly quite for being adjacent to a city/metropolis of millions.
