Were talking about $1000-$1500 for a parts truck, another 200-300(quoted) in motor mounts and clutch, and then I have to deal with the exhaust. The ram comes with dana 60s and the trans/transfer. My transfer case is blown and the engine too. I can get some cash for my current drivetrain, wheels, and 450 for the truck. All i need to buy apart from that is the dana 60 weld on brackets and stuff.
I am already plating my floors all the way to the firewall, because its all rotted. Might as well do the firewall while I am there.

No offense but if you want come sit down with me and I will figure out what I have in the MJ already and I am not even close to being done, I promise I have 3-4K in the project now and am not anywhere close to being done...and about seven months time right now in gathering parts and such...You may save a few bucks by buying a complete truck but it's going to be WAY more then you would ever plan on spending, just speaking from personal experience and I am not even done yet...would I do it again, only if I win the lottery and have nothing else better to do. My motor mounts alone were $250 shipped, then the headers to fit the MJ/XJ with a 5.3 are $305...are you seeing what we are saying? Not that we don't want you to do it, you are just going to have to sell a few body parts and maybe make a few sperm bank donations to pay for it, your budget cutting capabilities have nothing to do with it. When you are doing something that has never been done you have no ability's to cut corners, or budget...

I thought 3-4K to do the MJ, ****, I am at that now and don't even have the engine mounted or tranny/tc mounted...and the wiring itself is about $600-$900 or do it myself and spend weeks if not months trying to figure it out, oh, then I have to have the ECM reprogrammed to work with my application...I think he is biting off more than he realizes but more power to him, it would be one bad MF'er...I wanna hook him up to the MJ when he gets done, see how it holds up against the beast with the V10...
here ya go 2,000 motor transfer fenders hood interior be back in action less than a month part out the rest..http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/3078174953.html

Fedex,
I have also talked to both Novak and Advanced Adapters several times, the one guy at Novak even knows my name when I call, and I don't even have to tell him my name, thats how much I have been in contact with them for info and parts. Novak has converted a XJ and MJ and recommended that it be done to an XJ before an MJ but can be done to both. Advanced Adapters said they wouldn't even try it in an XJ or MJ, but could sell me the conversion parts I need to get the motor/tranny/TC to adapt to each other.
These are the people that make the adapter kits, so if you want to start figuring out pricing to convert to the V10, call them first and see what they say, then make your decision...jm2cw
