Good morning fellas,
Lee have you considered a solid tie-rod like the rough country one or iro?
Similar to factory not like the zj tie-rod upgrade...

Also, unfortunate turn of events, about 2 fridays ago I ordered 4.88s ring and pinion, master install kit and trac-lok for the 8.25 on my Comanche, the company refunded without saying a word, till I called the Monday, spoke to the owner, he said something about a lot of fraud in miami and that since we spoke on the phone reorder the parts then I'll ship them,
Code enforcement came that Tuesday said I gotta remove my junk(jeep) pile from the side of the house, I tossed out old rusted out stuff and gave away a couple to a couple of my friends building their (stock) jeeps, since I was tossing out the idea of installing the 8.25 I ordered an Aussie locker for the xj instead of the package, this Friday that just passed, today I get a refund again from them and an email stating that they don't ship to miami! What?!?!?? This guys site has one of the best prices on the market but he just lost business from me because he doesn't ship to miami...
I'll have to wait until the money gets back and order straight from Aussie...is this just a sign to spend my money elsewhere?

Man... that is really sad that their quality is diminishing like that. I didn't want to believe it, but I'm hearing more and more of this stuff lately. Shame.

Man, that sucks.... see if they'll ship it to Ocala. I'll ship it the rest of the way for ya if that's what it takes.

I might just upgrade the whole steering, instead of just the ZJ tie rod like everyone else. At 30 yrs old, it doesnt make sense to me to just upgrade only one piece when I really should replace everything.

Thanks for the offer, I was trying to save $20 which helped to buy the short bed sliders from nates4x4 for the Comanche...ill probably just save the money for gear install, which the Comanche needs it pushing those 35s around...

Maybe the Rusty's. Just installed two of them on an XJ and MJ. The new style is actually well built and beefy. Adjustments took no effort or time either. Plus he offers a military discount.

When I upgraded to the ZJ steering, I replaced everything at the same time. I was having DW like a champ and had the same feeling you did. "It's old, just replace it all."

I used the V8 ZJ drag link as well as the tie rods. The drag link was actually less expensive at the time. I didn't use MOOG though... I needed to replace the parts right away so I got what I could afford... which was Ultra Power. I know I'll probably have to replace it again sooner than I would have, but it was better than taking a chance and waiting for a TRE to break while I'm driving down the road at 55 with my family in the Jeep.

I'd eventually like to do Currie CorrecLync or just do 1-ton steering... but everything's working fine right now, so there's no need.

Drag Gary and Danny along. They deserve a night amongst some good people. And if unwilling, you can tie em to the roof rack. Lol
