Hey guys im in the process of overhaulin my XJ and wanted to know if im doing this right and any suggestions would be much appreciated!!


So far i have gotten dana 44 front and ford nine inch rear
Im looking for a set of s10 leaf packs or also called bastard packs
and am trying to find 35's its hard im just tryin to find some used ones so if anyone has a set and is willing to sell them keep me in mind lol
and im going for 5 inches of lift


I need to know if Ill be doing good with the axles their stock gears and i do mainly trail riding with some occasional mudd, but im mainly going with the OMG big look haha But its my DD But plz let me know wat you think so far !!

I'm running same deal; D44 and Ford 9 with 35s. The stock gears in mine were 3.50s which is probably what you got. IMO if it is a daily driver and you just ride mild trails you would be ok with the stock gears for a while. Dont expect it to take off like it does with the stock tires though! You always have 4-lo option for wheeling the rougher stuff. If you do the math, swapping to 4.88 gears will give you the stock engine rpm/ tire rpm ratio, which is what I did. You will need to buy another carrier for the D44 or a spool to go with the 4.88s. Good luck

did you have to lengthen ur driveshafts im doing 5 inch lift and nice i dont plan on wheeling to hard with stock axles ounce i get mo money then i will lol

well today im in the works of finding some square tubing for my jeep to make a tire carrier from the receiver to be prepared in case i get a flat next week in rabun county wheeling. Any ideas where to get the tubing??
