Just build it and be done with it. Never understood why people like an 8.8. Who replaces a c-clip axle with another one? You'll need spacers with either axle and if you want to go the cheap route just redrill the axles for your bolt pattern. We did it on a 9" a while back and it worked fine. You can't beat a D44 for aftermarket support and how cheap they are to build. Or you could buy a D60, I know someone that has one for sale.

I text some random about a 60 today...
Lol.

60 may be too wide for me.

Thoughts?

Either they don't know what gears they have or it's a typo and has 3.73s. Reguardless that's way to much for that axle. Yes it's rare but there are tons of others that are just as good or better. Get a Rodeo/Pilot D44 and it has factory disc and 4.10s to 4.56s and they run 100-150 bucks. Yes it's 6 lug but adapters will fix that or get a matching Waggy front.

But for somebody in my position, limited time and tools, its a decent deal. Even if the gearing is off.

It really isn't a good deal though. Who knows what gears are in it and you have to match the front and rear. If it had a good locker in it maybe. On another forum there is a waggy D44 with a Detroit, 5.38s, Dutchman axle shafts and a bad truss for 400 bucks.

Dang, well he already corrected it to 3.73 instead of the 83 he had typed, ive been looking for nearby stuff since i stripped an axle pretty badly in my turdy five, i kinda want to fix it to keep the abs but at the same time i want to upgrade to a 29 spline 8.25 ...

I think I have a 35 out back and the shafts should be fine, ring gear is gone, if you need some for now. The 8.25 is an underrated axle. I've seen my buddies beat the crap out of them locked/welded on 35s and 36s and they didn't flinch.

An 8.25 is my eventual goal, i just cant seem to find and xj axles for a good price. And my 35 has brand new brakes on it... so that makes the decision harder.

I paid 35$ hahaha. I've got a 8.25 sitting out back but its got a bust pinion bearing and ring gear is a little chewed up.
