I dont know what happened to my thread but I'll post it again. The way the insur. thing was put to me is this: If someone rolled down a hill and landed on your rig, then wouldnt you want them to have insur. to cover your loss? And, sometimes we leave from a nearby parking lot and have to travel on public roads to get to a trail head and in doing that puts a liability on the organization.

Yep, I'm with you on that one. Allthough I'm friends and also wheel with several of your SJ members, I'm not inclined to insure something that sits in my shop 95% of the time.

Can you even insure something that isn't registered cause mine ain't and isn't. Also if you have an accident on the trail insurance prob won't cover it anyway. You would be using your vehicle outside it's normal parameters and you won't get a cop back there to write up a report either.

thats abunch of crap... it insures whatever the paper work says it does... you think allstate or whoever is going to the scene of the accident? no... liability is all thats needed to be legal... not full coverage... if you hit someone on the trailes then you hit someone on the trails... it doesnt matter where... its the fact that you did... think if you hit your buddy in the field haulin hay that the insurance company wont pay up? or on a dirt road? liability is all thats needed... promise...

I have been in accidents and if there is no police report the insurance company can refuse to pay stating no proof. And in the places I ride cops ain't coming back there. It took the rescue squad 5 hours to reach a guy who ran off a ridge on an atv and it was right off the trail. Try and find an insurance company that will insure a buggy and if you say your Jeep is off road use only you will see dollar signs in their eyes and most times they don't replace aftermarket parts which is all I have left for the most part.
