engine, trans, and axles check out good. it has no ac or heat. the only rust is on the sides of the bed where the floor of the bed joins the side. it is thru rust. blah!
not a deal breaker.

That's a good winch for the money. I have that one

 

I got one. Only thing is the yoke has bolts sheared off in it. Can be drilled out or just replace yoke. Let me know.

 

He should drill them out And run straps.

 

That Is what I did on mine. Some ford straps from napa work great.

Assuming there weren't any unmentioned tranny or (terrible) rust issues, I'd get the J10... But what's your budget (for a Cherokee)?

 

i cant get the guy to call me back on the j10, we spoke earlier in the week and then midweek and i thiught all was a go to purchase but now he wont return my calls-

oh well -

my budget is $2400 or less. it doesnt have to be pretty, and doesnt have to be a cross country champ. IMO, my last xj was to nice to take offroad, so i want something that can drive 2-miles to work, but still offroad on weekends. i dont offroad hard so it doesnt have to be too extreme.
