Default Alternator Upgrade, Central Florida

Anyone know of a superb alternator that would be good for 6 x 55 Watt IPF lights with a 240 WATT set of electric fans?

IPF 868 set x3 is what I have. Just installed them today and will wire them in soon after I finish the WJ seat install I am currently attacking.

I had heard tales of shops being able to take your alternator and frankenstein it into a 240 AMP beast. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with that concept.

the mean green alternator is what i think you may be referring to. i had one in my '04 Rubicon and it was nice for the added power stuff, 4 4" HID off road lights and my running IPF HID lights. It also didn't bog the winch down as much. It was really over kill though for what i had it for. They are on the expensive side also, about $375-$400.

But i have heard great things about using the 136A alternators from the ZJ and WJ V8 cherokees. That is the route i am going to go with my '97 XJ

Check out DC Power. They're mostly used for car audio, but it'll serve the same purpose.
